Wet room lighting zones. Each zone requires that a light fitting has certain capabilities denoted by its ip rating. Chrome bathroom lights are the most popular as they generally match the taps. Most bathroom light fittings are ip20 or above rated and depending on their ip rating they can be mounted in the different zones in the bathroom. Bathrooms are inherently wet rooms and electricity and water don t mix happily.

There are 3 designated electrical zones in the wet room that have been identified in the iee wiring regulations and it is crucial that any of the appliances listed above is sited in the correct zone.
